Who am I what do I do ? I’ve had quite a few new lovely followers and I thought I’d introduce myself……

I’ve worked as a ladies wear buyer progressing to Head of Buying over a 30 year period. A job which has brought many ups and downs. I’ve loved it and I’ve travelled, another great passion of mine. I trained as a printed Textile Designer. On leaving Uni I worked as a freelance fashion & interiors designer for a London & Manchester agency. With lecturing two days a week to art and design students. I was totally immersed in all things creative.

Then by a sheer fluke I applied for a trainee buyer role at N Brown in Manchester, where I stayed and progressed for nearly twenty years. I went on to take two more senior and Head of buying roles. The later was where I worked in lille France. Getting the Eurostar from London every Monday morning was a real commute.

Then in 2017 I really had a look at what I was doing, with my career, my work life balance and I decided to do something that I have always wanted to do. I do have a leather jacket addiction and turned a passion to fashion (Sorry !!). I set up my jacket company. Anyone will know that there are ups and downs with everything but the highs have been brilliant because it’s what I have created. Knowing that there are lovely wonderful individuals out there wearing my jackets, truly makes my heart sing.

I am now working as a freelance stylist and I love it. Recently I filled in to do a Unisex fashion range. Taking off my ladies wear hat and look at clothing from a gender neutral perspective. My Styling work, well I don’t consider this as work, it’s hard graft, I like everything to be perfect and get very protective over the clothing 🙂

It’s endlessly rewarding. For me working with like minded people is the best thing ever, which is a big ‘Brucie Bonus’
